Nitrofurantoin works by stopping the growth of bacteria in the urinary tract, thereby treating the infection. Indications NITRORAG-SR Tablets are indicated for the treatment and prevention of urinary tract infections including cystitis and pyelonephritis caused by susceptible strains of bacteria. Precautions and Warnings Do not exceed the recommended dosage or duration of treatment. Use caution in patients with renal impairment as dosage adjustment may be necessary. Avoid prolonged use as it may increase the risk of developing bacterial resistance. Inform the healthcare provider about any history of allergic reactions to nitrofurantoin or other medications. Monitor for signs of peripheral neuropathy, pulmonary reactions, and hepatotoxicity during treatment. Storage: Store at room temperature (15°C to 30°C) in a dry place. Keep out of reach of children.
